Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield can provide clients with essentially two types of services: (1) Estate Planning and (2) Estate/Trust Administration, Probate, and Conservatorships assistance

Estate Planning

Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield can assist clients in both the planning of their estates from the outset and also updating their existing estate plans. Under either scenario, the initial consultation is always free of charge. At the initial consultation, Attorney Christopher Knepshield will meet personally with prospective clients to both educate them and provide different options for them regarding their estate planning. Mr. Knepshield will never attempt to sell prospective clients anything, and he actually encourages clients to take the information received at the initial consultation home with them to more fully discuss their estate planning options in the comfort of their own home. There is no expectation that prospective clients will make their estate planning decisions at the end of the initial consultation.

Approximately ten (10) days before meeting with a prospective estate planning client, Mr. Knepshield provides him/her/them with an estate planning workbook, which should be completed and brought to the initial consultation appointment. The more thoroughly the estate planning workbook is completed, the easier it will be for Mr. Knepshield to assess the client’s estate planning options.

A prospective client’s estate planning options can range from as simple as a Durable Power of Attorney or Advance Health Care Directive to a more comprehensive plan, usually including a Living Trust package. Clients who end up retaining Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield to complete a Living Trust for them can expect to receive the following: (1) Durable Power of Attorney; (2) Advance Health Care Directive; (3) Pourover Will; (4) Living Trust (w/General Transfer); (5) Completion of ALL transfer work (with limited exceptions per state law); and (6) Free updating of all documents in the future (except in the event of divorce for married couples).

If you are interested in a free consultation with Mr. Knepshield, please either call or email us. Also, for your convenience, you can download and print an estate planning workbook by clicking on the appropriate link here (single or married).

Estate/Trust Administration, Probate, and Conservatorships Assistance

Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield also assists clients with the administration work regarding estates and Trusts after someone has either passed away or become incapacitated. Generally, this means representing and/or assisting an Executor of a Will, Trustee of a Trust, beneficiary or an estate or Trust, or even a Conservator. If court action is needed, Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield can handle such matters, which usually will involve probating an estate or assisting an acting or prospective Conservator. In most instances, administration of a Trust will not require court action, although it can, and Law Offices of Christopher B. Knepshield can also assist with those matters.
